Thaal Sinestro is a prominent character within DC Comics, most notably associated with the Green Lantern Corps.
Originating from the planet Korugar, Sinestro was initially considered the greatest of all Green Lanterns.
However, his increasingly authoritarian methods of maintaining order led to his expulsion from the Corps. He was later revealed to have used his power ring to rule his home planet as a dictator.
Sinestro's first appearance was in the comic book *Green Lantern* (Vol. 2) #7 in July-August 1961. Subsequently forming his own Sinestro Corps and harnessing the power of fear, Sinestro became one of the Green Lantern Corps' most formidable and enduring adversaries.
